We’ve seen too many quickly hacked together children’s apps that may show off a developer’s technology nicely but have not been thought through when it comes to protecting children, particularly children’s privacy (Not to point fingers, but, those “Santa Apps” that acquire someone’s phone number and address without parental controls? )

This is a maturing Industry in it’s nascent stages.  The “manifesto” is a nice guideline to start forwarding to children’s app developers; whether they are garage shops or large scale corporations.

The Holidays are Almost Here…Santa’s Getting Ready to Chat. . .

While we left last year’s story and chat available throughout the Year (yes, I enjoy chatting in July), the ALL NEW “MYSANTATALK” is about to be launched in November 2011 in time for the Holiday Season.

New story.
New chat.
New pictures.

And, we’ll also be on some new mobile platforms this year.

OK, Santa’s going back to his RegEx Elves to put on the finishing touches.

Santa Chat for Holidays 2011 — Where to find Santa?

The 2009 MySantaTalk was available on Instant Messaging.

The 2010 MySantaTalk was available on mobile web.

The all new 2011 MySantaTalk is being entirely rebuilt and redesigned and will feature more bells, whistles and AI tools than it’s predessors…and, it will be available in many more channels. . .mobile web, Android, Windows 7/XP (AppUP), Meego and maybe, just maybe, we’ll even do a native iOS version.  NOOK/color is also a strong possibility.

Announcement will be made, including Links, no later than October.

An All New Chat with Santa for 2011 – Now in Progress

It’s make-over time for MySantaTalk.

We’ve just scheduled the work to commence in July for an all new version of the application, delivered to more mobile sets and through more channels, for the 2011 Holidays.

The current version will be taken offline during the first week of July.

The sun’s coming out and the days are getting warmer…

Time to think about Christmas 2011.

The team @ MySantaTalk are busy planning an enhanced version of MySantaTalk to feature new layers of  interactivity and storytelling for 2011.

As well, we’re testing out new delivery channels for mobile, including ANDROID, NOOK, MEEGO and Intel’s APPup for Windows Mobile and Tablets.   We want MYSANTATALK to be available EVERYWHERE.

Santa in the Off-Season – Chat Improvements

You’d think Santa would be lounging around on a beach in Fiji…

Oh, no, he doesn’t.

While next Season, there will be entirely new interactive stories and video produced, right now, the elves are busy improving the chat navigation and making the mobile web experience easier for everyone. Below is a screenshot of the new interface:

From Around the World to CES…Now on Holiday

The 2010 Holiday Season and MYSANTATALK was inspiring for those of us at contentAI studios. With steadily increasing numbers throughout it’s launch (right up until “the night before Christmas”), some great analytics from the QR Tag and mobile web site, it was the (anonymous) chat logs themselves that really made the undertaking worthwhile.

People engaged. People enjoyed.

And, quite a few either fooled us, or, they really “suspended disbelief” and went along for the journey — Now, whether you chat to a human Santa in a Mall, or a virtual Santa on your phone, suspension of disbelief is really part of a successful engagement.

We’ll keep the application available for a short while longer, but, it will be taken off line at some point and then prepared for 2011, when even more bells and whistles will be added.
